Our Staff

Shelley Smith
Director
Shelley came to BKA with 23 years of experience in childcare.  While she has had a heart and passion for children for as long as she can remember, the Lord impressed upon her heart many years ago that her mission is to also love on and minister to the staff who are loving and nurturing the children in their care.  This mission has carried over to serving and leading in Beltway Women’s Ministry for several years.

Shelley has been married to her husband, Chuck, for 19 years.  They are a blended family with 5 children and 4 grandchildren.  Their daughter Brittany and son-in-law Zackery live in Abilene with their two children, Stella (3) and Knox (1).  Their son, Tristan, lives in Nashville, TN.  Son, Dylan and daughter-in-law Emily, live in Abilene with their two children, Bryleigh (6) and Kayden (3).  They have a daughter, Kilyn, who lives in North Carolina and the baby of the family, Isabella, still lives at home and is a Junior at Wylie High School.

Chuck and Shelley own F3 Printing and Apparel and together serve in Beltway’s Marriage Ministry, Re|engage.

Shelley’s desire is that every person who walks through the doors of Beltway Kids Academy feels a sense of peace, joy, kindness, safety and most of all, the love of Jesus each and every day.

Logan Qualls
Assistant Director
Logan Qualls joined Beltway Kids Academy at its launch in May of 2024, just before graduating from Abilene Christian University with a bachelor's degree in Child and Family Services. From the beginning, Logan felt called to be part of the mission and heart of BKA - a place where children are not only cared for and nurtured, but where they are also pointed toward the love and truth of Jesus Christ.
She began as an Administrative Assistant, supporting the directs, staff, and families of BKA. In May of 2025, shortly after marrying her college sweetheart, Keith, Logan stepped into the role of Assistant Director.
Logan's heart is to create a peaceful, loving, and Christ-centered environment for every child and family that walks through BKA's doors. Whether it's through encouraging a teacher, supporting a parent, or simply getting on the floor to play with the little ones, Logan views her role as a calling - a way to reflect God's love and grace in everyday moments.
Ari and Aubrey
Administrative Assistants
Meet our Administrative Assistants, Ari and Aubrey. They are the beautiful faces you see upon entering our facility and the voices you hear on the other end of the phone. Ari and Aubrey are organized, efficient, and BKA wouldn’t run like it does without them. If you need any help or a question answered, they are eager to assist in any way.
